SVAC 10 Hosts BIR Seminar
For My Government Day, the Serafin V. Aguilar Chapter No. 10, Order of DeMolay hosted a Bureau of Internal Revenue seminar at the Bacolod Masonic Temple today, July 19, 2024.
The seminar, entitled “Contributing to Progress: Understanding the Vital Role of Taxes in Nation Building” was presented by Dad WM Roev Bryl T. Sobrejuanite and Atty. Dianne Frances Dosono from the BIR.
Dad WM Sobrejuanite talked about the basic concepts of taxation, highlighting that taxes are the government’s lifeline, while Atty. Dosono discussed tax procedures and requirements.
The seminar was attended by the following brethren: Bro. Clyde Taguan, Bro. Kyle Balbin, Bro. Ken Lim, Bro. Sean Arguez, Bro. Leonardo Lim, Bro. Javes Laraya, Bro. Kyle Cezar, Bro. Kristjan Alejandro, Bro. Micco Somera, Bro. Lorenzo Melocoton, Bro. Enzo Sevillo, and Bro. Ulyjohn Oreiro.
Aside from the active brethren, the Agora Refuge Center, the Information System Analyst and Management Accountant Negros Federation, accountancy students from the University of St. La Salle, and the SVAC Mother’s Club were also present.
The seminar concluded with an open forum where the audience conversed with the guest speakers.
Indeed, taxes are the foundation and lifeline on which our government thrives – let’s all do our part in keeping our democracy alive.
